- AutoTrace
- AutoTrace is a program for converting bitmaps to vector graphics. The aim of the AutoTrace project is the development of a freely-available application similar to CorelTrace or Adobe Streamline. In some aspects it is already better. Originally being created as a plugin for the GIMP, AutoTrace is now a standalone program and can be compiled on any UNIX platform using GCC.

EyeFract is a Julia and Mandelbrot set (fractal) generator. It provides total control over all aspects of generating these sets, including the ability to create fractals beyond the typical quadratic family. A list of functions is provided for use, including trigonometric functions. It has JPEG/PPM export capability, and includes presets for fractals and colormaps.

The GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software suitable for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, a image format converter, etc.

GQview is an image viewer for X windows. Features include single click file viewing, external editor support, thumbnail previews, thumbnail caching, and adjustable zoom. GQView has the ability to compare files and list similar or duplicate images based on content. Full screen view and slideshows allow for basic presentation of images. The program offers simple image file management with the ability to copy, move, rename, and delete files. Image collections, similar to a song playlist, are also supported.

- K-3D is a 3D modeling, animation, and rendering system for GNU/Linux & Win32. Features include creation and editing of geometry in multiple realtime OpenGL solid, shaded, and texture-mapped views; unlimited undos and redos; complete extensibility at runtime through third-party plugins; animated procedural geometric effects; all parameters animatable through a consistent control-spline based interface; rendering pipeline to Renderman Interface compliant rendering engines; optimization for use with the BMRT rendering engine, which features raytracing, radiosity rendering, true displacement, and user programmable shaders; and support for background and batch rendering.

- PDFMap
- PDFMap is a command line tool and Python library which eases the creation of very high quality maps in PDF format. You can place objects on the maps. Each object can be represented by either a shape or an image, and is scaled and rotated to reflect its original dimensions and orientation. You can make each object clickable in Adobe Acrobat Reader (e.g., to access a Web-enabled application from which you've extracted the data used to create the map).

SDLcam is an SDL GUI for the Philips Webcams that are supported by the Linux kernel. Images can saved after the filtering step as JPEG, PNG, or BMP. Most of the filters are optimized in assembler, and many use MMX, so they are very fast. It also supports FTP uploading with renaming. It has a very flexible config file that allows nearly all the options from the GUI to be preset.

- tgif is a vector-based drawing tool, with the additional benefit of being sort of a web-browser. That is, you can fetch drawings from a web server with it, and you can make objects in your picture into hotlinks to other parts of the drawing, or to other drawings accessible via HTTP.
