Ubuntu, based on Debian, is the world's most popular Linux distro. It combines a vast range of packages with a slick Gnome desktop and lively supporting community. On this DVD we have a special, enhanced version of Ubuntu that mixes in KDE, Xfce, development tools and much more - see the magazine for more info. You can run Ubuntu in Live mode (and then install it) by booting your PC from Side 1 of this DVD (320MB RAM required). If you have less RAM, burn and boot the 'Alternate' ISO provided here; or if you have an AMD64 box and want the absolute maximum performance, there's a CD image for your machine here too. (The standard version will run happily on AMD64 machines.)
