It doesn't come around very often, but a new Debian release is always something to celebrate. Debian 6.0, aka "Squeeze", continues the tradition of being an extremely robust and well-tested Linux flavour. Indeed, it's the basis for Ubuntu and many other distros. We've included a combined live and installable version on this disc - just boot your PC from the DVD and select what you want. Another big release is KDE 4.6. The hardcore hackers among you will find the source code in the Desktop section, but it's easier to try it in live mode by booting from this DVD and selecting it (scroll to the bottom of the boot menu). And then there's LibreOffice 3.3, which appears to be the future for the OpenOffice.org code, along with stacks of desktop apps, development tools, games and much more. Enjoy, and I always want to hear your feedback - should we have more 64-bit distros? Would you like more alternative OSes (BSD, Haiku etc.) to explore? Drop me a line! Mike Saunders |
