batemail is a Perl script that you slip between your MTA (e.g. Sendmail) and your local mailer (e.g. Procmail) to strip potentially nasty attachments from email messages. It takes input on STDIN, removes executable MIME attachments, and gives the result to the local mailer. The criteria for a taboo attachment are that the filename ends in one of several "blacklisted" extensions (EXE, VBS, etc.).

Bid Monkey is a command line tool, written in Perl, created to automatically place a bid on an eBay auction at the last minute. It will run in the foreground or background, and only requires basic information from the user, such as username, password, item number, and the maximum bid to place. Its most unique feature is that it will automatically determine the auction ending time. All you have to do is tell it how long before the end of the auction you would like to place your bid. Bid Monkey will work internationally (eBay.de for example) due to the fact that any item number can be viewed through any eBay site.

Eqlplus is a Linux modem combining strategy based on IP masquerading and eql. Modern browsers typically open many simultaneous HTTP TCP-based connections to fetch text and images from remote servers. TCP multiplexing distributes these simultaneous connections across several active links, thereby increasing the apparent bandwidth to the Web user. Eqlplus is currently under development and has been recently updated for Kernel 2.4.19.

HTTrack is an easy-to-use offline browser utility. It allows you to download a Web site from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images, and other files from the server to your computer. HTTrack arranges the original site's relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the mirrored Web site in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads.

It does this by removing advertising and background images and scaling down images to low quality JPEGs. RabbIT is written in Java and should be able to run on any platform. It does depend upon an image converter if imagescaleing is on. The recommended image converter is "convert" from the ImageMagick package.

SpamProbe is a spam detection program that uses a Bayesian analysis of the frequencies of terms used in the email. Because it filters email based on content rather than on general rules, it easily adapts itself to the types of email that each individual user normally receives.
