The Space Shuttle Columbia, with its two solid rocket boosters (SRBs) and  
external fuel tank (ET) are photographed as they clear the launch pad at  
Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39. The external tank is unpainted 
for  the first time and it's orange color appears dark in black and white 
photos  (28745-6);  In this photo the Columbia is just about to clear the 
launch  tower. This photo was taken from across a field (28747); Columbia 
has cleared  the launch pad in a cloud of exhaust (28748).
