That was something like a month ago, perhaps. Here's the file you need. Season's greetings!!! ----- Subject: ARRL Information Service (info@arrl.org) Summary: Info by Email Comment: local.net, rec.radio.amateur.misc, rec.radio.cb, sci.electronics, comp.misc, rec.radio.shortwave, k12.ed.science The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) has a useful service -- the ARRL Information Mail Server. This is an automated mail server that let's you access many of our information files, containing information about various facets of Amateur Radio. You can retrieve these files selectively by sending an email message to ARRL HQ. Each file you request is then mailed to you automatically, usually within a few hours. You can request more than one file in the same message to info@arrl.org . Here are copies of the current "help" response and a sampling from the "index" response of the info mail server. They should get you started. The index command will get you a complete list of available files. Enjoy! ===================================================================== INFO is a service of ARRL HQ. To use it, mail messages to: info@arrl.org Each line of the message should contain a command as shown below. You may place as many commands in a message as you want. Each file you request will be sent to you in a separate message. Only ASCII text files are supported at present. Valid INFO commands: help Sends this help file index Sends an index of the files available from INFO send FILENAME Sends "FILENAME" example: send prospect quit Terminates the transaction (use this if you have a signature or other text at the end of the message.) Note: your message will *not* be read by a human! Do not include any requests or questions except by way of the above commands. Retrieve the EMAIL file for a list of addresses of ARRL HQ staff. Also, note that this message is from "info-serv@arrl.org." Do *not* use your mailer's "reply" command to send your next request. Generate a new message addressed to "info@arrl.org" instead. We set it up this way to prevent failed mail from looping endlessly, annoying system administrators. If anyone needs some help with the server, or has ascii information files that they would like to archive on our server, additional information or updates for any of our files, or suggestions for improvements, please contact me here at ARRL Headquarters via email or telephone (203) 666-1541. 73 de ARRL HQ, Ed Hare, KA1CV, ehare@arrl.org ===================================================================== Sample of files available from INFO: (ARRL is constantly adding new files, or updating old ones.
