To: tcp-group@ucsd.edu (Sorry, I just CANNOT get this NOS to send mail to any of the suggested addresses, or to any of those in the MX entries... manually) Glenn, on the modems (i.e. the ones on 33/23 cm and 3cm) did you even bother with clock recovery per se (i.e. have an external circuit dig the clock out of the signal) or did you simply use existing clock recovery circuits in the HDLC software/TNC, or use a code with an implicit clock (like Manchester, etc.)? We are hacking together a T1 modem (already bench tested, etc.) that goes through the trouble of robust clock recovery, scrambling/descrambling, integrate-and-dump data filters, etc. and were wondering how much overkill that might be, in your experience... If I can get email to you directly, I'd be happy to fill you in on more of the details:-) Thanks. <Clint> ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Sep 93 00:04:25 UTC From: n5faz@n5faz.ampr.org (Paul H. Rob i have a version of nos than can attach ifaces directly to bpq code without using the packet driver and NODEDRV4.COM. it was written for JNOS 1.08b but dont see why it cant work with 1.10x9 also. If you want ill send you the code bits. or upload them someplace where you can get them. let me know if you are interested. .. faz ... +--------------------------------------------+ | paul h launspach n5faz | | packet : n5faz@w5es.#wtx.tx.usa | | ampr : n5faz@n5faz.ampr.org 44.77.0.70 | | internet : n5faz@centaur.arl.army.mil | | cis : 71046,76 | +--------------------------------------------+ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Sep 93 23:38:08 EDT From: ron@chaos.eng.wayne.edu (Ron Atkinson - N8FOW) Subject: nos and bpqcode To: tcp-group@ucsd.edu Paul, mail bounces for n5faz.ampr.org. Does it talk to BPQ using it's hostmode? Why not ftp it somewhere? I'd like to take a look at it. PMNOS dies in OS/2 2.1; I'm wondering if the new OS/2 code broke anything. The zip files are dated January 1993; not exactly ancient but getting there. The old OS2 NOS doesnt inspire much confidence; at least it starts running. thanks ___________________________________________________________________________ John Paul Morrison | University of British Columbia, Canada | Hey hey!!
