I have an Alinco 70cm mobile rig I bought a few years back to run 1200 baud
on the so-called backbone around here at the time. Used it a bit for voice
on and off too before investing in Kenwood 741's...

Haven't had much luck selling it at local fests, not sure why. Occurred to me
that it would be handy to have a frequency-agile 9600 baud setup for testing
links we've been deploying, so, before I got staring at the schematics, has
anyone modified one of these for use with a DE-9600 or equivalent modem board?
If so, I'd be pleased to hear the details.

Anyone know what the NOOP command is supposed to do on a FTP server
when the client sends it? Thanks.

I have uploaded a new version of WAMPES (wampes-930902) to UCSD.EDU.

Highlights:

- SunOS 5.2 (== Solaris 2.2) support.

- conversd now supports arbitrary network topologies while staying
  mostly compatible to old implementations.

I want to point out that people from within Hewlett Packard may get the
newest WAMPES version anytime by ninstalling it from mdddhd.fc.hp.com,
or by anonymous ftp from mdddhd.fc.hp.com.

This is the README file:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

wampes-930902.tar.Z (compressed) and wampes-930902.tar.gz (gzipped) are
tar archives of WAMPES, which is a NET/NOS port to various flavors of
Unix.

WAMPES currently supports the following configurations:

everything.
