Last time I looked at the manual, I think it said it was a variation of
Continuously-Variable-Slope Delta Modulation with a 56 bit (I think)
scrabling alogrithum. To get an Idea look at the spec sheet for a MC3517
or MC3518. To reduce the data rate they used a slower sampling rate than
the 16k samples per second. I think is was closer to 4k per second. IF
you have ever heard someone on it, you can not always tell who they are,
just what there saying. (It's real low quality audio, The pc speaker can
be programed for more fidelity if you realy try.)

Hi, The DVP Data rate is 24 Kb. Ive measured a DVP MICOR reciever, and it
has a bandwidth of about 25 Kc. Its a low group delay IF design, and should
be able to handle 24 KB packet, as well as anything less.

I don t remember any of the stuff about the voice modulation, I had the
manual with the radio here for a few weeks, only.

Hi Adrian,

It's hardware specific. With the TNC-1 Kiss code it sets the radio port
baud rate.
