              busy for the day.

Distractions: It's Florida, of course there are many! Golf course close,
Busch Gardens within 20 minutes, historic sights, beaches,
all within easy traveling distance. Of course, there's Disney

Orlando, only a little more than an hour away.

Papers: Those wishing to submit papers for the conference proceedings
should do so NOW. No papers will be accepted after Aug 6.

                     Newington, CT 06111
                     tel: 203-666-1541

All Conference activities will be held in the Holiday Inn.

Mention the Conference for a special rate is $50.00 a night (single or

will be taking your chances.)

In response to a question, someone who shall remain nameless quoted
the entire TCP-Digest (47 lines). Even if I'm the only one that will mention
this, I'm sure there are others that feel the same way. Please take the time
to use your editor when composing a reply. Consider yourself lucky this time.
Had this happened on alt.tasteless, you would have been disemboweled and fed

Subject: 8250 or not 8250 that is the question
To: tcp-group@ucsd.edu

Hi,
I've managed to scrounge various bits of kit, and have a working
386PC with mono monitor, 40MB hard disk, ne2000 card, IO
card, keyboard for stlg80 :-). I'm hoping to get it set up as a gateway
eventually. What I was wanting to know regards the serial chip on
the IO card. Is there anyway to tell whether it has an 8250 or a
16550 (I'd prefer the later). I was thinking that maybe there was
......
If you have windows or know someone who does, there is a DOS
utility in the windows directory called MSD.EXE. Run that
and look at the comm ports detail. It will report the type
          of chip in use.
