A 2m CW transmitter shouldn't be too hard. I'd approach it by first
building a 10m tx then adding mixer & amplification stages. I'm trying
to find time to homebrew a 435 MHz CW transmitter... it's still in the
sketch/wad up/toss/repeat phase. :-)

You can usually find a decent 2m all-mode for ~$200 at hamfests. I paid
$175 for a Kenwood TR-2900, a 10W mobile-size rig, and it works great
for RS-10.

Subject: Any FAX software for AEA DSP-2232 ???
To: ham-space@ucsd.edu

I am interested in receiving both AM (NOAA 137MHz) and FM (WEFAX) FAX images.
I have a DSP-2232 and it seems to have the modems to decode these modes.

I have tried various software, AEA 900 FAX, AEA WEFAX (that $99 device), and
JVFAX (with all of its modes) to interface with the DSP-2232 with no luck.

Does anyone know of any software (PC or Mac) that works the DSP-2232 to receive
fax images?

Thanks,
Randy Hall

Does anyone know where I can get a list of satellite downlink frequencies?
I am looking for whatever I can get.

For Mac people I would strongly recommend the shareware program OrbiTrack.
It is available on the sumex archive. You can also try a program called
SatTrack (I believe). This is another shareware Mac program (don't confuse
it with DL5KR's UNIX SatTrack). It is more amateur radio oriented but
not as good, IMHO. It is also on sumex. Several years ago I bought a copy
of "Satellite Pro" from AMSAT. The author of the program and I had a nice
talk about his software but I ended up returning it. The author was planning
a major new revision and so someone else should probably post a review.

OrbiTrack does output controller codes for an older antenna interface. I
bought one of Ron Longs (W8GUS) trak-box like standalones to control my
antenna array. SOrry, I don't remember if SatTrack has an antenna interface.
Satellite-Pro needed a couple of hundred dollar interface box before it would
talk to the rotor.

Good question. When I tried to unpack ver 1.7 it failed.
