Anybody know of a good shareware program for code practice?

This is my opinion and no one elses included the folks at Dartmouth.
The opinion is tainted by playing too many musical instruments.

I just ftped a program called "Morse Trainer US-1.1.1" from oak.oakland.edu
(\pub\hamradio\mac). I think it is the best one I have seen
so far.

My fire department is looking for used Motorola MT1000s, which I
guess have been superceded by the HT1000. We need about three of
them pretty quickly.
 o cover 154 mHz region
 o 16 channel w/ scan

We would also like to acquire the programming cable for these.

Any sources would be appreciated.

That doesn't work if you're reading offline. First you wait for
your news packer (uqwk) to build the download files, and then you wait
again for for the modem to send it all to your local system.

Every time someone bloats this newsgroup with something like
the "Hams on Internet" list, I have to wait an extra 10 minutes
before I can even throw the stuff away.

With many (but not all) news implementations, they go to the newsgroup

What is it exactly that you find objectionable about having your callsign
linked to your internet address? And if you find it objectionable, why do
YOU list your callsign in your sig file?

Since the Boston ARC archives (oak.oakland.edu:/pub/hamradio) have been
available for some time now, and many of you have acquired many programs
from it, I would now like to ask for your comments.

Please comment on:

* What you like about what the site has to offer

* What you do not like about what the site has to offer

* What changes you would like to see

* What you would like to see added/subtracted from it

* Any other specifics

Please send your comments directly to me, as I will not be reading news
much for the next few months.

Thank you very much.

Scott
