Such as I see as a sprayed on black crinkle layer on the inside of plastic bezel parts on PCs...are there conductive-upon- drying spray (or dip) paints vailable? To: ham-homebrew@ucsd.edu I hope someone can help me out with what I think is a relatively simple problem. I am trying to expand my current stereo speaker system by using the CD-line out jacks. I want to run those lines into some sort of box that would have multiple speaker jacks, so that I could attach and remove external speakers simply by pulling rca plugs. I have canibalized an old stereo and have some really nice speakers that I would like to use with my current rig. The problem is this: When I run the CD line-out lines directly to the speakers, I get a VERY small signal coming through them (I have to press my ear up to the diaphragm to hear it) and the signal coming out of the speakers that are already attached to the stereo (the originals, not using the line-out signal) also become so quiet that I have to turn the volume all the way up just to hear them. It is as if the sound is just pulled out of the machine when I hook up the external speakers. However, when I connect another stereo (one with line-IN jacks) to mine, they both work fine, with plenty of volume. I was wondering if I need some sort of amplifier in the separate box, and possibly a cross-over network to send the signals out to the various speakers. I would appreciate any suggestions!
