Any suggestions. ( 2m antenna ) Probably one of those gain-type duckies that Diamond/Comet/etc. sell may be flexible enough but some of them are 15" long and may be more of a problem length-wise. If you're just looking for a ducky for the sake of having a rubber duck antenna and not worried about performance, look into the "stubby" ducks some antenna manufactures sell (larson, for one). Short and not liable to get in the way, IMHO. -- Gary T. Problem: The rubber duck on the handheld unit, 20 ft lower than the outside antenna works better than the discone. Eppley field and their aircraft and Omaha PD (UHF) are full quieting on the duck, barely audible on the outside antenna. He swapped out the coax for another run of '58 with the same result. He swapped out the discone for one of the 3 vertical rod scanner antennas. I haven't heard yet how well that worked out. Does anyone have a suggestion what the problem could have been? How could the antenna have been so bad? Thank's for any suggestions Chester F.
