I think they cost around $20. I'm sure the guts themselves are only about $3 if you can find a source. Brett Miller N7OLQ brett_miller@ccm.hf.intel.com Intel Corp. I was beginning to worry that my $4 HRO cable might not actually be connecting my $600 radio to my $100 SWR meter so I thought I'd check it. Hmmm... center conductor seems fine... Hmmm, that's interesting, the center conductor and the shielding are connected! Good, no wonder the meter wasn't registering anything, I was dumping 50 Watts into the damn cable! Well, gotta hand it to Yaesu for building a radio that can stand up to that with apparently no ill effects. This little incident also bears on a question someone had about the Radio Shack VHF SWR meters. I gave them a lashing after returning two of them as faulty (using the same cable, of course!)... So I would bet they worked after all. I feel a little bad about that but I'm sure RS will recover. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- TTGATTGCTAAACACTGGGCGGCGAATCAGGGTTGGGATCTGAACAAAGACGGTCAGATTCAGTTCGTACTGCTG Eric E. The TS-50 is a nice small all mode rig that will make your life easier if used as a mobile, the TS-140 is somewhat larger and personally I can't imagine it mounted in a midsize or compact car :-) Both radios are more or less the same as far as performance is concerned, but have you given the TS-640 (I think that's the correct model number) a thought ? It is the TS-140 plus one extra band... As far as comparing Kenwood with Icom or Yaesu, well personally I LOVE Kenwood, so I would say Kenwood is best... 73's > > Thanks, > Vince (15 weeks and waiting). ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Mar 1994 17:40:21 GMT From: ihnp4.ucsd.edu!agate!howland.reston.ans.net!cs.utexas.edu!convex!news.utdallas.edu!feenix.metronet.com!serafin@network.ucsd.edu Subject: WANTED: FM module for FT-ONE To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu I am looking for an FM Module for a Yaesu FT-ONE.
