To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu I am looking for recommendations for headsets with boom microphones. I will use them with my Kenwood TS450 and my Yaesu FT530. I would like to find one with one earpiece for the FT530, and two earpieces for the TS450. I have seen several inexpensive ones that were attached to some Radio Shack walkie talkies, and one that came with a sound blaster type board, but I don't know of a source for these. I have also heard of an expensive brand called Heil. Are the Heil ones worth the cost, and does anyone have a phone number for the Heil company so that I can get a catalog. Thanks for the help, -David N9PGH davids@truevision.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Feb 1994 03:48:35 GMT From: ihnp4.ucsd.edu!sdd.hp.com!math.ohio-state.edu!sol.ctr.columbia.edu!newsxfer.itd.umich.edu!destroyer!caen!malgudi.oar.net!utnetw.utoledo.edu!uoft02.utoledo.edu!ASCHNUT@wintermute.fullerton.edu Subject: Station 4 Sale To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu Hello. To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu I agree with Scott. I had the FT-470 when it first came out and replaced it with the 530 when it was introduced last year. It is a wonderful radio and well worth the extra $125. As a matter of fact, that is NOT a good deal even! I sold my FT-470 with speaker mic, extra batteries, dc pack and case for $250. The Ft-530 cost me $409 out the door. last year at Dayton they were briefly available for $375 at a couple dealers. 73 paul wb8zjl ------------------------------ End of Ham-Equip Digest V94 #41 ****************************** ******************************
