To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu I can get my hands on some aircraft cabling for a very resonable price. Can it be used for guying towers? My towers are 1) Rohn 25 @ 120' 2) Alumina (VERY BIG) @ 120' I plan on putting stacked monobanders (10,15,20) on one, and a 40 mtr beam on the other. The cable is 7/32" diameter and has a breaking strength of 5,600 lbs. Will this work? Thanks in advance, and please e-mail direct. Does anyone know how to use the mic to enter : frequencies in VFO mode? The number keys seem to generate tones ok but I : have not found a way to directly enter a frequency. Peter, a friend of mine says he is quite sure that the 731 did not support direct entry from the mic, I also own one and believe this to to be true. The 732 and 742 do.
