I briefly looked around and all I coud find was a paket51.exe somewhere in Germany... I would have looked around, but it apears to be primetime there and the loads are abismal... It is available on simtel and its mirrors and on garbo. It was designed specifically for amateur use and has a lot of features for working with most any tnc. It has been released as free software (since freeware is a trademark, so I understand, I can't call it that). I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to talk directly to his/her tnc/tu. A new version is in the works. To: ham-digital@ucsd.edu I've been trying to make the following combination work: PA0GRI NOS version 2.0m Jalocha AX25 packet driver (January 1993) Basic BAYCOM modem TCM3105 without hardware DCD 386 20MHz machine No drivers or TSRs other than ANSI.SYS and KEYBD No memory mapping/EMM or similar. No DESQview -- just raw DRDOS 6, loaded low (Standard BAYCOM 1.50a software works fine with vanilla AX25). (GRI NOS with a PK88 TNC works fine with all protocols). Symptoms are that "long" incoming packets (longer than about 100 bytes) are consistently dropped. I can hear the packets arriving (with the driver "beep" option enabled), but they don't appear on the trace, and they don't find their way to the associated session. The behaviour is quite consistent: I can connect to a station with "connect", "telnet" or "ftp" without problem, but as soon as the corresponding server on the target machine sends a "long" message-of-the-day or other welcoming text, the session freezes. Comparing the trace against a similar session with the PK88 confirms that the "long" packet was dropped by the BAYCOM system. I have tried all the combinations of the AX25 driver parameters that I think might make a difference, together with a number of different parameters in the "attach packet" command in autoexec.nos. Also tried turning "multitask" and "isat" off. No difference. Also tried a quick test with JNOS (can't remember the version number), which exhibits the same problem. Any ideas? 73 Ian -- +---------------------------------+----------------------------------------+ | Ian Wade | e-mail: ian @ g3nrw.demon.co.uk | | 7 Daubeney Close, Harlington, | AMPRnet: g3nrw.ampr.org [44.131.5.147] | | Dunstable, Beds, LU5 6NF, UK. | AX.25: G3NRW @ GB7BIL.#27.GBR.EU | +---------------------------------+----------------------------------------+ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Dec 1993 07:13:12 GMT From: swrinde!cs.utexas.edu!howland.reston.ans.net!newsserver.jvnc.net!newsserver.technet.sg!ntuix!ntuvax.ntu.ac.sg!asirene@network.ucsd.edu Subject: MFJ 1814 Multimode Controller To: ham-digital@ucsd.edu Hello, Has anyone here used the MFJ1814 Multimode controller?
