You might encounter some problems running the search applet under
certain platforms and using certain versions of browsers.  The
following paragraphs describe some hints, pointers, and suggestions
that might help you resolve any problems you might have.

WINDOWS 95/WINDOWS NT

  If you have version 4.00.953 of rpcrt4.dll (in \WINDOWS\SYSTEM), you
  might encounter errors similar to 

    file java_30 could not be found in the CLASSPATH Your current
    CLASSPATH variable is:
    C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator\Program\java\classes\java_30 etc.

  This problem affects versions 2.0, 2.01, 2.02, and 3.0 Navigator,
  Navigator Gold, Navigator International, Dial Up Kit, and Personal
  Edition.

LINUX

  Here is a summary of current (12/4/96) known problems running
  Java applets/applications under some distributions of Linux.

  * Some distributions of XFree86-3.1.2 come with a libXt.so.6.0
    that may cause problems.

  * Problems with using the JDK with an X display running at 24bpp
	
  * Incorrect system settings can interfere with Java applet/
    application execution.  In particular,

    - incorrect CLASSPATH environment variable
    - /dev/zero permissions must be 666.
    - insufficient free swap space (recommended 20 MB minimum)
