The air was very still, and there were no sounds at all except the occasional rustling of the highest leaves of the trees. She put her hands on her sides and felt the familiar material of her school blazer. "What am I doing in a forest wearing my school uniform?"
It seemed like another world, Shannon thought to herself. But still, there was the moon. She stared at it for a moment, entranced by how bright and sharp it looked in the sky. The night couldn't have been any clearer. Shannon could see the tiniest stars.
