Looking around again, she could see no apparent path or even anything in the distance. No mountains or fields anywhere. The trees seemed to go on forever in every direction. She thought about waiting until it was light out to try and go anywhere, but the next cold gust of wind made her mind up for her.
She had to find a way out of the forest.
There was one tree which seemed far larger than the others. Some of its roots were visible through the ground. Although it was difficult to see much detail, the bark of the tree appeared to have been burned recently, despite the fact it still had greenery.
The ground seems not quite so hilly in this direction.
It is too dark to see where this passage leads.
