It also acts as a screen filter to display back the VISCII codes as Vietnamese characters on an EGA or VGA screen. This program allows the user to use most existing DOS applications (for example, WordPerfect, MS-Word, Quattro-Pro, Turbo C++, etc.) in Vietnamese. In addition, file and directory names can also be displayed in Vietnamese. This is a free program from the TriChlor group. Questions should be directed to "bui@berlioz.nsc.com". -------------------------- VIETDM10.ZIP Multi-font dot-matrix formatting & printing VIETDM 1.0 is a multi-font text formatting and printing tool for VISCII 1.1 text files on dot-matrix printers. VISCII is a Vietnamese superset of the ASCII standard (thus VIETDM also supports ASCII printing). All dot-matrix printers are supported. Printing is done in a high-resolution micro-spacing graphics mode. No printer setup is required, and font-downloading capability is not needed. VIETDM comes with 3 near-letter- quality bitmapped fonts. A menu system allows flexible selection of line spacing, pitch, font, margins, etc. ------------------------ VLASER3.ZIP Multi-font LaserJet formating and printing VLASER is a menu-driven multifont printing utility for VISCII 1.1. It allows very flexible formatting, with autosaving of format setup. Four LaserJet fonts are supplied. VLASER is the counterpart of VIETDM for LaserJet compatible laser printers. However, VLASER uses font downloading, and 4 bitmapped fonts are supplied. The program is free. Questions should be directed to "nguyenh@nosc.mil". This version 3.0 replaces version 2a (VLASER2A.ZIP), and includes the following changes: * Quick-print mode skips menu system. * Font directory is stored so that VLASER can be executed from any directory. Default directory is directory from which VLASER was executed. * Flexible tab widths. * Can print to various parallel and serial ports, or to a disk file. * Dumps entire VISCII font to printer as a single font. This allows the user to print by sending more VISCII files to the printer after VLASER is exited. This only works for LaserJet version 2 and newer printers. * Bug fixes. --------------------------- WINVNK12 Vietnamese keyboard and fonts for Windows 3.1 WINVNKEY is a Windows 3.1 package with a keyboard filter and VISCII TrueType fonts allowing Vietnamese to be used in most Windows 3.1 applications (for example, NotePad, Write, MS Word for Windows, PageMaker, Excel, etc.).
