Finite Element Matrix Interpretive System (FEMIS)

FEMIS is a computer program designed for interactive operation on
a Personal Computer (IBM compatible) using the DOS operating system.
It should be useful for engineering and scientific applications
  involving matrix and finite-element analyses.

  PACKING LIST:

FEMIS.EXE This is the FEMIS executable file. It occupies 255000
bytes and requires 400000 bytes to execute.

FEMDOC.EXE This small driver program provides menu-directed access
to the FEMIS documentation contained in the FEMIS.HLP
                file.

FEMIS.HLP This binary file contains FEMIS documentation and must
be read from either FEMIS or FEMDOC.

*.DAT Files with the extension ".DAT" are data files. These
files are ASCII files. They serve a tutorial role and
may provide an overview of FEMIS capability.

  GETTING STARTED:

FEMIS is a DOS command-line program. The program can be started by
simply typing FEMIS at the DOS prompt. FEMIS expects to find a data
file, FEMIS.DAT, in the current directory. If FEMIS finds the FEMIS.HLP
file in the current directory, FEMIS provides menu-directed HELP. FEMIS
creates an output file, FEMIS.PRT, and a matrix library file, FEMIS.MLB,
in the current directory. If FEMIS.DAT is not present, FEMIS asks for
the name of the data file (may include path) or, if you wish to enter
data from the keyboard, simply type "interactive".

If files are not in the current directory or other filenames are used,
this information must be included in the command-line. Details on this
procedure can be obtained from the FEMIS.HLP file, COMMAND LINE topic.

To briefly study FEMIS documentation, copy FEMDOC.EXE and FEMIS.HLP to
the current directory and type FEMDOC at the DOS prompt.

  CAUTION:

If you run the PLATE.DAT test case, be sure that the PLATE._MB file
    is in the current directory.
